mission

Founded in 2012, Hawaii Chocolate and Cacao Association (HCCA’s) mission is to promote the emerging chocolate and cacao industry in Hawaii. We work diligently to assure the health of our industry and provide education and information to our members and the public.

Function and membership benefits

Legislative strength:
As a member of HCCA, you will influence state and county legislation that affects the chocolate industry. The Hawaii Chocolate and Cacao Association acts as the industry’s voice on legislative issues. Members are active in lobbying legislators and HCCA hires professional representation on an as-needed basis.

Industry networking:
Annual Conference and Educational Opportunities for Growers and Farmers
During the annual HCCA Conference a variety of current issues will be presented by guest speakers and industry information shared among professionals in the industry. These conferences will provide educational opportunities for growers and farmers.

General Membership Meetings
Our general membership meetings usually follow a networking format.

Statewide awards program:
HCCA Awards
The annual HCCA Awards honoring outstanding achievements in the Hawaii Chocolate and Cacao industry. An independent panel of experts judges the contest and gives awards for excellence in numerous categories.

Educational outreach:
HCCA sponsors an annual contest to encourage culinary students to pursue careers in the chocolate industry. This program offers students tangible awards, peer and professional recognition, publicity and the opportunity to meet professionals in Hawaii Chocolate and Cacao.

Other benefits include:
Newsletter
HCCA’s official newsletter provides regular communications with members by spotlighting upcoming events and industry news.

HCCA Logo
Upon request, HCCA provides members the HCCA logo for use. Displaying this symbol shows commitment to the standards and policies of the association.
